Story: Basquiat tells the story of the rise of graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Starting out as a street artist, living in Thompkins Square Park in a cardboard box, Jean-Michel is "discovered" by Andy Warhol's art world and becomes a star. But success has a high price, and Basquiat pays with friendship, love, and eventually, his life, when he dies from a heroin overdose.
Verhaal: 'Basquiat' vertelt het verhaal van de opkomst van graffiti-artiest Jean-Michel Basquiat. Wanneer hij als een straatartiest werkt en woont in een kartonnen doos in Thompkins Square Park, wordt hij ontdekt door het kunstwereldje rond Andy Warhol en wordt een ster. Maar succes komt met een hoge prijs en Basquiat betaald die met vriendschap, liefde en uiteindelijk zijn leven, wanneer hij sterft aan overdosis heroine.
