Story: The story of the popular Dutch singer Johnny Jordaan (1924-1989), told by Kees Prins as Johnny Jordaan and John Leddy as his brother-in-law and driver Arie. It shows his marriage to Totti, the beginning of his career as a singer, the way he dealt with his homosexuality and the effect of his sexual orientation on both his personal life and his career.
The songs by Johnny Jordaan in this series are being sung by Kees Prins.
Verhaal: Het verhaal van de populaire zanger Johnny Jordaan (1924-1989), verteld door Kees Prins als Johnny Jordaan en John Leddy als Arie, zijn zwager en chauffeur. Het laat zijn huwelijk met Totti zien, het begin van carriere als zanger, de wijze waarmee hij met zijn homoseksualiteit omging en het effect van zijn seksuele geaardheid op zowel zijn persoonlijke leven als zijn carriere.
De liedjes van Johnny Jordaan in de serie worden door Kees Prins zelf gezongen.
