Story: Bruce comes to Rome for a one year stay at the Villa Medici. His brother, a writer, has died. His girlfriend has left him. As the days pass by he feels more and more cut off of the world and his normal daily routine. Little by little he gets used to the palace and it's farmlands. Just like the other, quite silent inhabitants. He meets Matteo, a young student on work replacement from Rome who works at the administration of the Villa. Matteo works his way into the live of Bruce. If you see Bruce, you see Matteo. Bruce gets confused when he sees that Matteo shows various characteristics wthat make him think of his brother and he's lead weak-willed into a unusual and indistinct relationship, a rude initiation full of high expectations and erotic games.
Verhaal: Bruce komt naar Rome voor een eenjarig verblijf in de Villa Medici. Zijn broer, een schrijver, is overleden. Zijn vriendin heeft hem verlaten. Naarmate de dagen verstrijken voelt hij zich steeds meer van de wereld en zijn normale dagindeling afgesneden. Langzaam aan raakt hij vertrouwd met paleis en de landerijen. Net als de overige, nogal zwijgzame bewoners. Hij ontmoet Matteo, een jonge stagiair uit Rome die bij de administratie van de Villa werkt. Matteo dringt langzaam binnen in het leven van Bruce. Waar Bruce is, daar is ook Matteo. Bruce raakt uit zijn doen als hij ziet dat Matteo allerlei karaktertrekken vertoont die hem doen denken aan zijn broer en hij laat zich willoos in een ongewone en onduidelijke relatie trekken, een wrede initiatie vol hoge verwachtingen en erotische spelletjes.
