Rotterdam has a long history of gay life and there have been a lot of gay bars, like AbFab (Van Oldenbarneveltstraat 88), After Dark (Coolsestraat 33-35), Bonaparte (Nieuwe Binnenweg), Bunkhouse (Nieuwe Binnenweg 105), Café Nel (Josephstraat 190), De Doos (Witte de Withstraat), Café Jacques (Gouvernestraat 48), The Cat Club (Lesbian), Homolulu, Jan de Jong (Drievriendenstraat 32b), Joy (Van Speykstraat 152), Kameleon (Van Oldenbarneveltstraat 88), Loge 52 (Coolsestraat 52), Heeren van de Hoek (Mauritsstraat 1a), Sagitta (Drievriendenstraat 36), Savoy-bar (Nieuwe Binnenweg 107), The Village (Coolsestraat 74), Zanzibar (Nieuwe Binnenweg 111), Zorba, d'Groove (Westblaak 81), Stats (Schiedamsevesthof 21) and (my favorite) Mateloos (Nieuwe Binnenweg 105a). Bar for gay and bisexual male and female youngsters under 26. Twice a year they organise a discussion group. A excellent place for young people to start their exploration of the "gay world".
Bar voor homo/lesbo/bi jongeren (m/v) tot 26 jaar. Twee keer per jaar worden er gespreksgroepen georganiseerd. Een goede plek voor jonge mensen om de oriëntatie van de homowereld te beginnen.

Every third saturday of the month there is Gaylypso in Calypso, which means a good night on dancin'!
Iedere derde zaterdag van de maand is er Gaylypso in Calypso, wat een lekkere nacht dansen betekent!

The oldest gay bar in Rotterdam. It was officially opened in 1937 at the Westzeedijk, a district that attracted the sailors who visited Rotterdam. The bar stayed open during World War II and was frequented by German soldiers. After the war the Cosmo was visited by more and more gays. After the Cosmo had moved to the Westplein the bar made it's final move to the Schiedamsesingel.

Keer Weer was opened on february 7, 1987. Former owner Piet Gamelkoorn is a well-known gay in the Rotterdam scene. Most costumers are between 30 and 50 years of age.
De Keer Weer werd geopend op 7 februari 1987. Voormalig eigenaar Piet Gamelkoorn is een bekende homo binnen de Rotterdamse scene.
